In 2009 the community where I live undertook a project to become the first wind powered recreation complex in Canada.  During the research for this project I developed a passion for the idea that wind power could help create a sustainable future for recreation complexes, which are major power consumers in every community.  Furthermore the idea that wind could be harnessed for energy made a great deal of sense to me as a farm and home owner as well.  During my research I also became aware that the mark-up on wind energy equipment was high in most cases, so I started Southwest Wind Energy to offer Wind Energy equipment at low prices to make the opportunity feasible for anyone who might be interested.
